  • More to Her Story Partners with Rukhshana Media to Elevate Afghan Women's Voices

More to Her Story is proud to announce a new partnership with Rukhshana Media, Afghanistan’s leading newsroom dedicated to women’s rights.

Founded by Zahra Joya — one of TIME Magazine’s 12 Women of the Year in 2022 — Rukhshana Media has been a vital platform for Afghan women and girls reporting on their own lives under Taliban rule.

We will co-publish stories twice monthly on the lives of women and girls in Afghanistan. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to amplifying the voices of Afghan women and girls as they continue to navigate life under gender apartheid.

More to Her Story and Rukhshana Media will work together to ensure their stories are heard.

  • More to Her Story Founder Sarah Little Makes Forbes' 30 Under 30 2025 List for Media

Sarah Little, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of More to Her Story, has been named to the Forbes 2025 30 Under 30 list in the Media category for her work amplifying the voices of women and girls around the world.

Since its founding as a newsroom in 2023, More to Her Story has grown into a global newsroom dedicated to reporting untold stories—often from the margins—through a gendered lens. From war zones to refugee camps, Little’s work has focused on elevating firsthand narratives and shedding light on the structural barriers that women and girls face across the world.

“This recognition is about the millions of women and girls whose stories deserve to be told—and taken seriously,” said Little.

In an era when much of the media overlooks gender-focused reporting, More to Her Story stands as a testament to the power of journalism rooted in dignity, depth, and truth. This honor underscores the growing urgency—and relevance—of that mission.

  • More to Her Story Secures 250K in Grant Funding to Expand Global Reporting on Women and Girls

More to Her Story has secured $250,000 in new funding to expand its editorial output, strengthen its international network of contributors, and deepen its critical coverage of women and girls.

The funding marks a pivotal moment for the organization, allowing it to double the number of stories it publishes monthly, increase pay for its freelancers, and transition key staff into full-time roles.

“This funding allows us to scale our impact without compromising our mission,” said Sarah Little, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of More to Her Story. “At a time when global coverage of women and girls is being deliberately pushed to the sidelines, this support sends a clear message: women’s stories matter.”
